It's just perceived as more graphic and disturbing because it mimics whats in the news every day, and people are afraid of that. There is FAR worse scenarios in games like GTA, Saints Row, ect... not to mention on TV today..

COD just has shiny graphics, throws in some terrorism and shit hits the fan..

nice i couldnt agree more. of course the damn video is down and i didnt get to see it but your right. im in an rotc (you said you were german and im pretty sure its only american but it trains high school and colledge kids to be ready for the military) program and everyone is just like what you said and it really pisses me off.

Well if you want to play the game as "the good side" then need no fear. You can skip the level! Infinity Ward implemented a way to skip the level without playing because it was deemed not fit for all. So stfu... Play the game.

As for me SHOOOOOOT the civi's! WOOT hope they give you a pistol in the level to so you can take out knee caps!

Listen....you haven't got a Goddamn clue what i've seen in my life. I am a retired German Recon and KSK soldier and have PTSD. Have you have seen a whole village been torched to the ground because of a bad missile strike? have you had to take their remains beck to a hospital at HQ, and tell their families "Well im sorry their not coming home today because a asshole gave the wrong coordinates." ? Yeah tons of innocent people die in war. I WW2 forty-seven million civilians died, while only twenty million military died. I saw only because only half as many military died as civilians.

You have never heard of a battle called Tora Bora have you? We speculated the Osama ben laden was hiding in the Mts of Tora Bora. You know how many Al-Qaeda died? around one thousand. you know how man Germans, American's or Brits died? none. i have seen that MW2 video before. I don't recall one thousand people dieing. Tora Bora was a massacre, and i feel like shit for helping with that cluster fuck.

Has everyone lost their mind?? does anyone remember Grand Theft Auto?? I am sorry but video games do not make me want to go out and murder New York. They are just fun as hell. If you have a problem with the game don't fucking buy it. I was in the 82nd airborne and I have been over seas, I also agree with the last post that people should be subjected to realism if thats what they are after. And then again, you would WANT your child to go through this - though virtually - in a computer game?

Once again, what you see in that level of the game is not "war". It is a mindless scripted sequence that MAKES you act as a bad guy. A very bad guy that is - your victims are not even trying to retaliate and you are supposed to "shoot" even those that are shown trying to save the others. You cannot make a different choice - I am pretty sure that if instead of carnaging the innocents you would try to kill your "partners" you would never progress to the next level. Where is "teaching that the war is bad" in that? Where is the fun at least?

I have also seen the decapitation video. Believe me, that somehow did not make me want to play MW2.

All of your reasoning slips my mind. Altogether. I admit it. Perhaps because I am not a teenager anymore and I have two kids myself. Perhaps because the terrorist threat is all-too-real in my country. No, it is not USA or Britain.

You do not know who I am. I come from a land where 900 innocent civillians went to a night performance of a musical and over 150 never returned home. Thanks to the terrorists and clumsy actions of the authorities. That had actually happened almost in my back yard - I live close to that theatre. I come from a land where over 330 - out of which 180 were children - never returned from their first day in school. Also thanks to the terrorists.

I suggest you go and explain that war is hell to the relatives of all those people. I suggest you buy several hundred of MW2 games and distribute them among the relatives of those who died because of the terrorists - the real ones that knock on your door, not the ones that threaten someone else in another hemisphere.

Yes, you are right, I cannot understand how mowing civillians that do not even respond to you in a computer game (in co-op mode as well, probably) will make mine you your children understand the horrors of war. This somehow slips my mind.

Listen, I was in Afghanistan for four years. I have seen shit go down. And trust me when i say this, no one is a "good guy" in war. Everyone kills, Everyone loses a family member that they loved. When i returned home after my tour, my daughter didn't even know who I was. I missed four of my son's birthdays. War is hell. That is why it is called war. Its not called happy fun time, where we shake everyones hand before we shoot plastic bullets at each other.

Now if you don't want your child to see this, I understand, but im buying this for my son for the first day. you know why? I want him to see what war is really like. Not like W@W where there are fucking Nazi Zombies. I want him to choose another path besides military, unlike what i did. I was raised with a single mother, and when she wasn't home, i would play video games, most first person shooters like call of duty and medal of honor, and for the longest time, i wanted to join up and fight for my country.I did, and i regret it. If anyone is reading this, Get this game for a child that wants to join the military, and force him to play it. Show him/her what real war is like.

As a member of the german heer KSK Division, I am glad that they are showing this. People, this is depicting war. War isn't pretty. Wake up and smell the coffee. Innocent people die in war. Thats why it is called war. If it wasn't they would called it happy fun time where everybody shakes hands before and after a invasion. And isn't video-games supposed to portray the person you are playing as. Bravo IW. Please make it as brutal as possible. I want children to see this and do something besides join the army when they get older, Unlike me. i was the kind of child who played as a sniper who killed Nazi's and wanted to do that my whole life.
